Laurence Graff has spared no expense in
celebrating his 60th anniversary as a diamond
jeweler.
Recreating his iconic Hair and Jewel image from
the Seventies -- which featured a model wearing
an ornate coiffure decorated with $1million of
diamonds and precious gems -- this time, the 75-
year-old used $500 million worth of precious
jewels.
Model Dalia Gunther had her chignon outfitted
with 22 rare jewels created at Graff's
headquarters in London, inlcuding a 52.73-carat
vivid yellow emerald cut diamond ring.
The new hairdo also holds the Graff Diamonds
Sweethearts earrings, featuring 51.53-carat and
50.76-carat heart shape diamonds; a 10.47-carat
vivid blue internally flawless briolette diamond
pendant; a 6.51-carat intense pink internally
flawless oval cut diamond ring; and a selection of
jewelry crafted from the 550-carat Letšeng Star,
the 14th largest white rough diamond ever
discovered.
The original image, the idea of which originated
from Mr Graff's travels around the world carrying
a suitcase of Graff diamond jewelry, received
international attention and became a landmark
promotion for Graff Diamonds, founded in 1960.
