On Thursday, January 24, 2014 some students of Lagos State University (LASU) embarked on a riot, leaving the University Vice Chancellor on the run for his life!
It all started when the University vice
chancellor Prof. John Obafunwa closed the school portal as the exams was to begin on Thursday leaving 2,000 students unregistered. According to a student who spoke with NET, only 708 students were able to register before
the portal was shutdown, again leaving about 1292 students unregistered.
After various pleas on behalf of the student from Students Union Government fell on deaf ears it was glaring the affected students 'would
automatically have to retake the session'.
'They just became violent all of a sudden, destroying school property and even the Vice Chancellor's convoy', a student who rather remained anonymous told NET.
The Nigerian police force arrived an hour after the protest to restore sanity in the premises.
The school admin is yet to respond to our queries over the matter.
